Creating Accessible PDFs Using Adobe Acrobat Pro

Course Length: 1 day (6 hours)

With new regulations for federal, provincial, state and municipal governments requiring that ‘public’ documentation must be made accessible, there is a need to make sure that PDF documents are also accessible. During this course students will learn about accessibility requirements and standards that apply to PDF documents and be able to make adjustment to PDF documents to make them as accessible as possible.

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
  • Understand legislation, guidelines and standards for PDFs
  • Learn about manual checks for accessibility
  • Use the Acrobat accessibility checker to check and fix basic accessibility issues
  • Work with the structure of PDF tags to make the PDFs more accessible
Target Student:
This course is designed for students who have a working knowledge of Office products and a basic understanding of accessibility. Some knowledge of working with PDFs is useful.
